Wildlife & Adventure – A Sho’t Left in Limpopo

5 Aug 2016

Look north in our beautiful country and you’ll wander into the wild heart of Limpopo. Brimming with nature reserves and wild wonderment, if you’re ever searching to get closer to nature, Limpopo is your answer.

We took a Sho’t Left to Limpopo to discover this for ourselves.

We arrived in Phalaborwa, the Oasis of the North. It was awarded this title thanks to the many palm trees, bougainvillea, lush greenery and tropical fruit trees that fill the gardens and line the streets, completely detracting from the fact that Phalaborwa is, in fact, a mining town.

After making our way through the town, we dropped off our luggage at the enchanting Tzaneen Country Lodge, our own little slice of Limpopo heaven. This is one shining example of the places you can find scattered throughout this province.

Adventures in Magoebaskloof

To speed up our heartrates and immerse ourselves deeper in the heart of Limpopo, we embarked on some bold escapades at Magoebaskloof Adventures. We ziplined through the mountains, fought in some intense paintball battles, and worked our way up the climbing wall.

A day of adventure was enough to tire us out, so we headed back to Tzaneen Country Lodge for a spirited evening of food, fun and an excellent performance from our chaperones – Afro-pop sensations, Mi Casa.

But wait there’s more…

From the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mapungubwe to the world-famous Kruger National Park, if you’re craving to absorb the soul of our natural heritage, there’s so much to uncover in Limpopo.
