We think everyone should get to enjoy all that South Africa has to offer, most of all the wisest of our nation – the Gogos. The “Gogos on Tour” initiative aims to treat our senior citizens to some awesome experiences at various places across their provinces.
This week the lovely gogos from KwaZulu-Natal have been treated and delighted, and this is what they got up to…
Durban City Tour
The gogos kick-started the day exploring the city where the “sun never sets”, onboard Durban’s Rickshaw Bus. Whether seated on the top deck of the bus or relaxing below, they all got to enjoy the sights and sounds from of a range of Durban’s hotspots. From the city’s Golden Mile on the beachfront, the Victoria Street Market, and The Cube on Innes road to Mitchell Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium and Suncoast Casino, it’s no doubt Durban left quite an impression on these special senior citizens.

The Phezulu Cultural Village on Botha’s Hill, 35km from Durban was the next stop for the enthusiastic senior adventurers who got to immerse themselves in Zulu culture, while taking in the breathtaking views of the Valley of a 1000 Hills. Plenty on-site activities kept the gogos entertained including a traditional Zulu dancing show, cultural village tour, as well as visiting the crocodile and snake parks. Thereafter they got to enjoy a traditional African lunch.
